The Abraham Low Institute promotes the study, dissemination, and application of the work of Abraham Low, MD (1891-1954), to improve mental health in society and the home.
Who was Abraham Low, MD?
Abraham Low pioneered in the treatment of mental and nervous disorders, in the education of their families about the illness, in the self-help movement, and in the effort to emancipate the patients and their families from the stigma of mental illness. His concepts, now recognized by professionals as far ahead of their time, anticipated many currently accepted modes of treatment.
